Fifty garden-segments containing over one million plants give you ample ground to explore. The New York Botanical Garden’s highlights include: a veritable forest of 30,000 trees, many of which are over 200 years old; the Arthur and Janet Ross Conifer Arboretum; The Rock Garden; herbaceous and mixed borders with stunning designs including the Jane Watson Irwin Perennial Garden and Ladies’ Border; The Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden; and a delightfully delicate collection of over 8,000 orchids in the Nolen Greenhouse for Living Collections, which by the way, is “the most sophisticated behind-the-scenes greenhouse of any botanical garden in the United States”.

Five major seasonal exhibitions complement the existing beauty of the permanent gardens each year, and highlight such displays as: “The Orchid Show”; “Monets Garden"; and “The Holiday Train Show”. Fun for the whole family can be had in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden, which features hands-on projects! Audio tours of the gardens are available. Every season is equally beautiful and unique at The New York Botanical Garden, so you aren’t limited to just spring and summertime visits! Lose yourself in the exotic flora and terrain of this National Landmark when you visit New York, then pay a visit to “Shop in the Garden”, which supports the garden’s educational goals of spreading the word about the importance and power of green!
