Night Tour by City Sights

Sorry, tweens: We're talking Manhattan skyline twilight, not vampires. But trust us: You will swoon when you see those iconic sites light up in all their evening glory. A perfect prelude to a romantic evening.

CitySights is famous for its double-decker “hop-on hop-off” bus tours. But did you know that this company also offers the city’s only double-decker nighttime tour, which allows you to see the most desirable sights in the city lit up in all their glitzy evening glory? This tour, unlike the others offered by CitySights New York, doesn’t give passengers the “hop-on hop-off” option, allowing them instead to be chauffeured around the city on a romantic two and-a-half hour twilight cruise-on-wheels. What a great way to see New York and squeeze a little romance into your busy sightseeing tour!

Comments about Smart Destinations CitySights NY Night Tour:

Let me start by saying that this tour was a great value and the views were gorgeous. Unfortunately we took the tour on one of the coldest nights in February when it was approximately 5 degrees out. The top of the bus is only partially covered and we did not have any shelter from the ice-cold wind. This did detract from some of our enjoyment, but nonetheless we still took some beautiful pictures and had some quality snuggle time (totally required to stay warm!) Definitely recommend this attraction, but I would stick to the April - October time frame. Oh, and beware if you are scared of bridges... going over one on the top deck of a bus with a "high winds" warning was a little scary :)

Comments about Smart Destinations CitySights NY Night Tour:

It was my first trip to New York City to see a photography exhibit at a museum downtown. We had some time to kill so my friend and I were crazy enough to do this night tour in the dead of winter. We went all out and sat in the back of the open-air bus away from the shelter overhead. It was definitely freezing and had we dressed a little smarter it wouldn't of been a huge bother. But the lights/views were great...including downtown, crossing the Manhattan Bridge and then in Brooklyn looking back at the city. Go on this tour...just go when it's warmer! Fun caveat: in a number of places on Sixth Ave, our heads came seemingly close to (but probably not realistically close to) traffic lights right above us. Never a safety issue...much more of an exciting/watch out! type moment.
