Cruise past the architectural delights and marvel at the grandeur of such sights as the Statue of Liberty, Brooklyn Bridge, Empire State Building, the new Freedom Tower, and more! New York Water Taxi’s Statue by Night Cruise is the best way to see each of these wondrous monuments. Prepare to be dazzled as they light up the sky.
Since the completion of the Brooklyn Bridge in 1883 and the subsequent erection of the Statue of Liberty a few years later in 1886, New York City has always been an architectural haven where the limits between fantasy and reality are narrowed. In the 1930s, a gargantuan beast, in the form of King Kong, dropped jaws of film audiences around the world as he perched atop the newly built Empire State Building. It was, for 40 years, the only construction fit for a behemoth like Kong, as it stood as the world’s tallest building until 1972. It was then that a brand new neighbor, One World Trade Center, rose 1,362 feet over the cityscape. Though the 1,250 foot Empire State Building was overshadowed by the World Trade Center project, it still stands proudly as one of the American Society of Civil Engineers’ Seven Wonders of the Modern World and the fourth tallest building in the United States.

Comments about Smart Destinations :
Beautiful views especially as the lights of the city started to come on at dusk. You get to be close to Lady Liberty as the torch turns on while they play "God Bless the USA." Evoked a lot of emotions and yes it brought tears to many eyes. The guides are great. They are very informative, entertaining, and kept us laughing most of the time. They keep it family friendly and spend a fair amount of time talking to the kids. It does get chilly on the water, even in June, when the sun goes down. If sitting on top, bring a light jacket or sweater.
