Save on attractions in top U.S. cities with Go Cards

July 8, 2005 -- Save on attractions, tours, and more in top U.S. city destinations with the new Go Card. Available for Boston, Chicago, Orlando, San Diego, San Francisco, and Seattle, Go Cards give visitors pre-paid entrance to 30 to 60 attractions in and around each city. One-day cards start at $45 for adults and $25 for kids ages three to 12. Kids under three are free and don’t require a card.

The deal

For a flat fee, cardholders have free access to all the participating attractions in a particular metro area for one, two, three, five, or seven days. You can find a list of all the attractions covered by each card on GoCardUSA.com.

Cards work best for travelers visiting multiple attractions each day because the more attractions you visit using the card, the more you’ll save off the cost of regular admission. Chances are you’ll be better off buying tickets at each attraction if you’re only visiting one or two sites.

Starting rates and sample attractions include:

  • $45 for adults and $25 for kids ages three to 12 for a one-day Boston card. Two, three, and five-day cards are also available. Sample attractions include the Museum of Fine Arts, the Museum of Science, Boston Duck Tours, Beantown Whale Watch, and the Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket ferries.
  • $49 for adults and $29 for kids ages three to 12 for a one-day Chicago card. Two, three, five, and seven-day cards are also available. Sample attractions include the Field Museum, the Shedd Aquarium, the Art Institute of Chicago, the John Hancock Observatory, and the Shoreline Sightseeing Architectural River Cruise.
  • $49 for adults and $29 for kids ages three to 12 for a one-day San Diego card. Two, three, five, and seven-day cards are also available. Sample attractions include the San Diego Zoo, LEGOLAND California, the Birch Aquarium, Tijuana Tours, and the San Diego Wine and Culinary Center Wine Tasting.
  • $49 for adults and $29 for kids ages three to 12 for a one-day San Francisco card. Two, three, five, and seven-day cards are also available. Sample attractions include the Golden Gate Bay Cruise, the Deluxe Wine Country Tour, the Exploratorium, the Asian Art Museum, and Six Flags Marine World.
  • $49 for adults and $29 for kids ages three to 12 for a one-day Seattle card. Two, three, five, and seven-day cards are also available. Sample attractions include the Space Needle, the Experience Music Project, the Argosy Cruises Harbor Cruise, the Gray Line Tour of Mt. Rainier, and the Museum of Flight.
