Your Hawaii visit isn't complete until you've experienced a traditional luau. And America's most spectacular luau takes place right here on Oahu. Join hundreds of new friends for an evening of exhilarating music, dazzling dancing and sumptuous dining.
Germaine's Luau is the perfect place to kick off your shoes and go native! Germaine's "Too Good to Miss" Luau is dedicated to sharing the ohana (family) feeling at this Hawaiian mainstay, and a trip to Germaine’s will complete your Hawaiian vacation!
After receiving a traditional shell lei and a warm aloha, the call of the conch shell beckons you to an all-you-can-eat Hawaiian/American buffet, complete with the island cocktail mai tai and blue Hawaii. Feast on Kalua pig, poi, fried chicken, teriyaki beef, and more delicious island and continental dishes. The tradition of the luau dates back to 1856, and Germaine's stays true to many of those early ways. The feast itself is called the ahaaina, and includes the imu ceremony for removing the roast pig from its cooking pit.
IMPORTANT: Your choice of one of the following is included with a 3, 5 or 7-day Go Oahu Card: 18 holes of golf at Moanalua Golf Club, Dolphin Encounter by Sea Life Park, HA Breath of Life Dinner Show at the Polynesian Cultural Center, Kualoa Ranch Sunset Tour, Germaine's Luau, Hawaiian Ocean's Surf lesson, or a 1-day economy 2 or 4-door Dollar Car rental.

While you're enjoying your meal, performers take you on a journey through Polynesian musical traditions with dances like the Samoan fire-knife dance (an audience favorite), the Samoan slap dance, Tahitian dance, and Hawaiian hula dancing. If you're lucky—you might even be invited to join in!
Germaine's has room to accommodate up to 600 guests, and dining is family style at outdoor banquet tables, which means you should pack mosquito repellent.
Your pass will also include access to round-trip transportation from Waikiki. The ride takes about an hour, and your bus driver will play tour guide and comedian to keep things interesting, in case the scenery alone doesn’t do it for you! And with three free drink tickets included for visitors 21 and over, why not leave the driving to Germaine's? Ancient Hawaiian luaus could last three days, but at Germaine's the party ends at 10:30 pm.
If you choose to drive yourself, you should pick up your tickets by 12:30 pm on the day of your reservation at GAC, 307 Lewers Street, Honolulu, HI 96815.
Germaine's Luau has welcomed more than 3 million visitors since 1976 and was named “America's Best Luau” in the America's Best! 100 publication.

This is the sencond time I have gone to Germaine's Luau and I love it more each time. The food is so delicious and hard to find the flovor of their kalua pork elsewhere. Our guide cousin Matt was so entertaining the entire bus ride to and from the luau. I think I would go back to the same luau everytime I go to the islands.

Comments about Smart Destinations Germaine's Luau:
It took a bit of effort to reserve a spot for the luau since we didn't know which day we wanted to do it. After all that though, it was smooth sailing. The tour bus came to our hotel to pick us up. They were quite prompt! The bus ride was about 30mins and the bus guide was fun and told us all about the luau and island. When we arrived, we were given a shell lei. The location was very beautiful. We came right when the sun was setting. Picture taking galore! The food was good too, but maybe because I was definitely hungry. They had a line system that worked well. They'd call us by our bus group number and line up. I think my friend's said the food was decent. There are drink bars for alcoholic drinks and another one for fruit juice and water. The entertainment was the usual. I can't say it was super awesome or engaging. I've seen shows at the Polynesian Cultural Center and this was pretty much similar. I enjoyed the experience. I recommend it to anyone who has a GO Card.

Wonderful food and lots of it, hula dancers, great night had by all. Tour guide entertained us with the ukelele on the long ride home. The Luau was grand. Lots of food and seconds if you want it. Entry price includes drinks!!! Even restroom facilities were lovely and clean. We had a ball.

Comments about Smart Destinations Germaine's Luau:
This was a fun luau. There is a lot of interaction with the audience. The food was wonderful. The only objection we had was the over stated fact that they wanted you to get drunk. This was a turn off for those families with small children.

Comments about Smart Destinations Germaine's Luau:
We went to Germaines Luau on a weekday, which I would recomend I think it was a great size crowd. We had a large group of 10 adults and 1 child and to my surprise they reserved us our own table in a great location. Our tour guide was Cousin Jerry and he was great, even hooked us up with some extra drink tickets. I would say the view of the ocean is great. The show is not bad and the food worked for me I loved the lomi, lomi and I want some more right now. The only thing that bugged was the bugs, we did not notice them at the time but about half of our group had lots of bug bits on there legs.

Comments about Smart Destinations Germaine's Luau:
This luau was by far the best choice of things to do. Very traditional, did the pig ceremony and even offered seating on the ground. The entertainment was authentic and very fun. The kids and I were able to dance on stage and everything! Comparing it to the Hilton Hawaiian Village luau this one was ten times better! We shouldve gone to this one again instead of dropping the $100 per person for the Hilton.

Comments about Smart Destinations Germaine's Luau:
Overall, the experience wasn;t too bad, but it didn't leave me with that "Wow" factor. "cousin" Taite was very entertaining on the ride down to the luau and back. The unveiling of the pig was fun and there was a great variety of dancers from across the Pacific. The picture that was taken costs $20. It would have been nice if that was included. The food was pretty good, but didn't seem overly Hawaiian. Next time, we will try a different luau to compare, but as a free event through the Go Card, it was a good deal.

Comments about Smart Destinations Germaine's Luau:
We really enjoyed Germaines. They had alot of great dancing and entertaining. The food was delicious, too! I highly recommend this to anyone wanting to attend a luau. I don't think I'd pay regular price for it, but I'm glad we chose it for our bonus activity.

Comments about Smart Destinations Germaine's Luau:
I thought that this luau was a GREAT luau overall. There are positives and negatives. First, the pick up location is very easy to find. However, there are SO many people that are waiting to be picked up. When we went about 3 bus loads were leaving so it was a little hectic. The bus ride is about an hour, but a beautiful ride. When you get there they take a picture of you by the ocean and give you a shell lei. Our bus seemed to be a little late, seating was very limited, but we were able to find a seat. Just not the best seats in the house. The free drinks are good! Food is great, families with children eat first however. And seconds are allowed. The bus ride back felt longer. When you get on the bus they try to sell you the pictures they took of you for $20 each, rip off!!! The ride back felt long, our tour guide sang songs the entire way!!!
