You rarely get the chance to explore a vibrant coral reef and see 450+ species of tropical fish. So don't miss this opportunity. Your adventure includes round-trip transportation from Waikiki along with sanitized snorkel equipment. You will not be disappointed.
Hanauma Bay is a protected marine life conservation area and one of the world's best places for novice snorkelers. Within the bay's pristine and clear waters, visitors can swim through a stunning coral reef with more than 450 species of vibrant tropical fish, a quarter of which are native to Hawaii. A snorkeling excursion in Hanauma Bay provides that quintessential Hawaiian beach feeling that brings tourists from around the world to the white sands of Oahu.
Your half-day pass with Kaimana Tours' Hanauma Bay Snorkeling Adventures includes round-trip transportation from Waikiki (about 25 minutes each way) and all the equipment you will need. You'll get a silicone-tempered mask, "J"-type snorkels, and endurance vinyl acetate fins, plus a defogger for your masks—and all equipment is sanitized after each use. Additional snorkeling accessories (like underwater cameras) are available onsite for an additional cost, or you can bring your own gear if you prefer.
The City and County of Honolulu recently raised the park entrance fee associated with accessing Hanauma Bay. Unfortunately as a result we have had to discontinue covering the cost of the park fees as part of the Go Oahu Card.
While we regret this occurrence, we understand and support the City and County of Honolulu's need to raise the fees to continue their long standing effort to restore and protect this natural treasure. We hope that your enjoyment of this magical spot will not be diminished by the park access fees and we appreciate your patience and understanding that these fees will ensure that those who come after you will be able to similarly enjoy this spectacular resource.
The access fee is $7.50 per person. The entrance fee is waived for children under 13 and for residents of Hawaii with proof of residency. Changes are possible at any time; for the latest information call the recorded information line at (808) 396-4229.
It is important to be at pick up location at time specified by Tour Company, as they are on a schedule to accommodate all customers and are not able to return to pick up missed customers.
En route to Hanamua Bay, a DVD presentation of Hawaiian marine life will get you inspired with a glimpse of the fish and sea creatures you might encounter. Upon arrival, your driver will give you an overview of how to use your gear. There is also a 10-minute mandatory orientation video that runs on the half-hour to give you the low-down on snorkeling guidelines.
The walk from Hanauma Bay Snorkeling Adventures to the beach is a bit steep, so keep that in mind when deciding what to bring with you. Lockers are available on the beach, and there is food at the top of the hill, but many visitors recommend packing a cooler and stashing it in a locker.
Reservations are required, and past visitors suggest choosing the 7:00 am pick-up time to avoid crowds later in the day.
Remember your waterproof sunscreen!
While it is possible to drive your own car to Hanauma Bay, in order to rent snorkle gear you must use Kaimana Tours. With your Oahu pass, Kaimana Tours provides transportation to Hanauma Bay and all necessary gear.
PLEASE NOTE: The City and County of Honolulu have recently raised the Hanauma Bay park fees. As a result, visitors using the Oahu pass will need to pay a $7.50 per person park entrance fee upon arrival. This fee is waived for children under 13 and Hawaii residents with proof of residence.

Comments about Smart Destinations Hanauma Bay Snorkle by Kaimana Tours, LLC:
This is like the waterfall trip. You should definitely do it...it's worth it, but if you have, don't drive with them. You can use the card to get your mopeds and ride up there yourself and meet the tour bus and get your equipment. They come back a few times throughout the day and they will pick it back up. It is incredible snorkeling, and there really is not a better location for "wow" pictures than this.

If you are going here use your card..if you go on your own parking lot fills by 8am and the walk is long and up a steep hill. Plus our tour guide was awesome, and knowledgable! Excellent day!

Definitely get there early as it gets crowded. Great place for a first snorkel trip. The rental equipment available is in great shape, better than most. Plenty of space to spread out on the beach. Saw tons of fish, really enjoyed our visit.

Snorkling at the Hanauma Bay is a must during a visit to Oahu. The water is crystal clear, and the fish are plentiful. One of the better snorkle locations in the Pacific.

So many spectacular fish at your fingertips - literally. You could almost reach out and touch them. We purchased a disposable camera from [...] and captured images of brightly colored tropical fish and coral. The water was warm, the conditions were suited for beginner to expert swimmers and the staff on site were very knowledgeable. Snorkeling with Hanauma Bay snorkeling adventures was definitely my favorite activity in Oahu!

Go early if you can. Great way to learn how to snorkel. Avoid the bus pick up at the hotel if you can, the bus pick ups and drop offs add 90 minutes to your trip each way. Meet the group at the headquarters if you rented a car and go directly up to the site on the tour bus rather than taking the bus all the way out from Waikiki.

We went to Hanauma Bay early in our trip, got there early since we were still on east coast time. Definitely get there early as it gets crowded. Mandatory safety video, but it is only 10mins. Great place for a first snorkel trip. The rental equipment available is in great shape, better than most. Plenty of space to spread out on the beach. Saw tons of fish, really enjoyed our visit.

Clear, blue water and tons of fish. Everyone had a ball and that was the general consensus by all the other visitors. Water is not very deep at start, so suits all age groups and swim levels. Had to drag everyone away to catch the bus home. There is a cheap trolley right to the water and back up. Highly Recommended!!!

Comments about Smart Destinations Hanauma Bay Snorkle by Kaimana Tours, LLC:
Hanauma Bay is beautiful, i am terrified of being in the water and this was the only place i felt comfortable enough to enjoy myself. We didnt get the free snorkel rental because we missed the bus, the company was very rude and i thought it was studpid to only provide equipment if you ride the bus...i have two small kids and the bus rides suck with them. It didnt matter we had bought our own gear and all you need is water and baby soap for the defogging solution. A definate must even without the tour.

Comments about Smart Destinations Hanauma Bay Snorkle by Kaimana Tours, LLC:
The only con about this is the 10 minute video that you are required to watch when you get there. You have to wait for it to start and then biew it before you can walk down to the beach. Short version of the video... "Don't stand on the coral and don't touch the sea turtles". Now... The rest is simply amazing. The fish are not afraid of you, so they just hang out for you to look at and enjoy. The water is very clear once you get away from the beach. (People kicking sand up as they walk). You can feel the waves but it is a very easy swim. The only tough part is that the walk down to the beach is a long 45 degree incline. There is a shuttle that will take you round trip for $1.75. Overall, this is a must do when you go to Hawaii.
