Lived up to Expectations

Comments about Smart Destinations :

The tour driver picked us up on time and returned us back on time. This was important because we had a tour scheduled immediately afterward. He showed us many sites along the way including where to eat the best Hawaiian Food as seen on the travel channel. He was very knowledgable on island geology and the rainforest and how it supports the islands water needs. The rainforest and waterfall were beautiful with lots of birds.

Interesting hike

Comments about Smart Destinations :

Driver picked us up at hotel....twelve guest squeezed into van seating 10 normally! At head of trail we received bottle of warm water and granola snack bar...no binoculars. The trail begins wide and gravelled, becomes narrower and muddier and steeper as you progress...definitely wear sturdy footwear, not flipflops. Also, bring a jacket...it's humid, even if it doesn't actually rain [as it did on us!]

Comments about Smart Destinations :

The family really enjoyed this adventure. We were picked up near our hotel by a van and very nice driver. There were 3 families in the van. We were driven to Manoa Falls (about 15 minutes away) for our hike. The driver pointed out several points of interest as we were driving. When we reached the falls, we given a water bottle and a snack bar, but no binoculars. We hiked the trail to the beautiful waterfall. It took us about 30-45 minutes each way as we took lots of photo opportunities. We also saw the area where "Lost" is filmed. The only restroom was an outhouse and it was very interesting....The trail was muddy in many places so good solid footwear would be helpful. One of my daughters wore flipflops! This was a very beautiful and peaceful experience and everyone enjoyed it!
