Indulge in a wild Florida adventure at Forever Florida. Your 2-hour Safari Coach journey begins with a trip through a traditional Florida ranch, featuring a living museum of Spanish Colonial Cattle and Florida's unique Cracker Horses. A trip through the Florida back country is like stepping into another world filled with prehistoric animals, plants, and environments that manage to be both hostile and beautiful. Get to know the true and unbridled beauty of the state on a Florida EcoSafari.

Wondering why you would want to visit anything but Florida’s world-famous theme parks? Florida is geographically and biologically magnificent. Comprising some 1,350 miles of coastline, the state is predominantly at sea level and boasts a subtropical/tropical climate. Although Florida has a rich legacy of native inhabitants, the region was first discovered by European settlers in 1513 and dubbed “Flowery Land”.

Forever Florida is a 4,700 acre ranch and wildlife conservation that is home to everything wonderful and wild about the state. Natural streams, wetlands, dense cypress forests, and creatures that cannot be found anywhere else in the country reside here. Your two-hour Coach Safari will take you deep into the back country preserve, which is almost entirely untouched by human hands. Some of the creatures that dwell in the Forever Florida ecosystems include alligators, black bears, white-tailed deer, the endangered Florida panther, and over two-hundred species of colorful and diverse birds.

Your Florida Ecosafari will travel through the Crescent J, a picturesque old-world Florida ranch and home to horses that are direct descendents of those brought to the region by Ponce de Leon himself! Back on the trail, your guide will talk to you about the various flora and fauna you are seeing, and you will migrate from ranchlands to conservation area. Keep your eyes peeled for turtles, colorful wild turkeys, and lots of other critters! You’ll then visit a floodplain forest and walk along a boardwalk, getting a clear view of Bull Creek (a “blackwater” stream that is clean enough to drink from).

Returning back through the 9 different ecosystems you’ve experienced, you will arrive at the Forever Florida visitor center, where you can pick up memorabilia from the souvenir shop or sit down to a real back-country meal at the Cypress Restaurant. Of course, if you just want to sit and enjoy the serenity, you can park it in a rocking chair on the veranda and slow down to the pace of Florida country life while watching the alligators in the lake.

Tours depart at 10AM and 1PM daily.

Comments about Smart Destinations Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida:

My husband and I visited Forever Florida and we were greeted by a not-so-nice clerk working in the Gift Shop where you check in for the buggy ride. Her name was "Jenn" and she needs some lessons on customer service! I wanted to leave, but my husband convinced me that since we drove so far, we should at least go on the buggy. Well, I'm glad we did. The tour guide "Nancy" was fantastic! She was energetic, very knowledgeable and eager to share her knowledge. It is because of "Nancy" that we will recommend the place, but they need to get friendlier clerks at the check-in counter.

Comments about Smart Destinations Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida:

front office staff/booking staff were rude, especially karen and jen, i have a special needs family member and they sent us back to the zipline knowing he wouldnt be able to do the zipline, so we went back to the rigging area the guides were nice but told us they didnt feel it was safe for him to go out and they needed to check so they called their boss steve who was also very rude and he told us we couldnt go, then when we got to the front jen told us there was no refunds. i also overheard some of the guides referring to their lack of certification to be putting people on the course, while there was some sort of inspectors there. the place seemed disorganized and unsafe as well as to expensive

Smart Destinations Response: We spoke directly about this situation with the owners at EcoSafaris. They were extremely apologetic (although they also pointed out there was a bit more to the story). But either way we and they regret that your experience was not what it should have been.

Comments about Smart Destinations Florida EcoSafaris at Forever Florida:

We needed a reservation which we made one day in advance. We saw plenty of wildlife. The guide was great. The only thing I didn't care for was the 30 minute video prior to the safari. It was definitely worth the drive. We were having trouble with our Go Card this day and the staff called customer service to resolve the issue. This was great!
