The website states that “WonderWorks began as a Top Secret research laboratory on a remote island in the Bermuda Triangle. As legend has it, the world’s great scientists, led by Professor Wonder, were given the task of creating a man-made tornado and harnessing the power of it. During this experiment, something went awry and the power of the tornado was unleashed throughout the laboratory. This created a swirling vortex that was strong enough to rip the laboratory from its foundation. It was carried thousands of miles away and landed upside-down on the top of a brick warehouse in Orlando, Florida. Remarkably, all of the experiments remained intact and functional.”

When you enter WonderWorks, you’ll quickly notice something different—everything will be upside down! So you will quickly be inverted, and then your journey can begin. WonderWorks is a bizarre arena of oddities and more than 100 interactive, hands-on exhibits that bring the unexplainable to life, and turn the unusual into the norm. Here’s a look at some of the most exciting exhibits:

Disaster Zone: Feel for yourself what a 5.3 earthquake feels like, then enter the Hurricane Hole and be blown away by 71mph winds!

Light and Sound Zone: Experience 3D sound, strike a pose and leave your shadow behind, play virtual air hockey, and dance to the colors of light!

Space Zone: Explore the outer limits in a life size replica of an astronaut’s space suit.

Bed of Nails: Feel the sensation of 3,600 nails rising up from under while lying down.

Velocity Ball: Stare down a Major League Baseball player at the plate as you wind up and pitch, then watch as your speed is displayed.

Wonder Coasters: Design the roller coaster you’ve always wanted to experience…and then ride it in an awesome simulator!

Bubble Lab: Enter a gigantic bubble (that you created!)

Mind Ball: A game built for two using bio feedback and EEG technology. Don a headband and relax your mind in order to move the ball across the table to the opposing side!

Far Out Illusion Gallery: Discover how perception and perspective help you look at the world.

How Cold Is It?: Feel the icy water as it was the night the Titanic sank. How long can you keep your hand submerged? Beat the clock!

Comments about Smart Destinations Wonderworks General Admission:

We thought it would only take an hour to look through Wonderworks; however, the children (and parents too) were so engaged in all of the exhibits that we were there for 3 and probably longer if it hadn't been closing time. There are so many opportunities for memorable pictures to be taken, especially as your husband is lying on a bed of nails. Staff are very helpful.

We have a 13 and 16 year old. The whole family liked this museum. We stayed until closing. We did the ropes course, which was great. There was so much to do. They liked the bed of nails, pitching, the water temperature of the Titanic, the hurricane and earthquake machines, and so much more!!! It wasn't crowded.

It was our frist time there. The number one thing I wanted to do was the rope climing but you can only do that if you have ten-a-shoes on. But I like every thing else as well.

Comments about Smart Destinations Wonderworks General Admission:

This was a very neat place. We went to kill a couple hours on a rainy day. It was a very neat Children's Museum. It was enjoyable to us all, adults too. Kids ages ranged 12 to 16 so there was some things for everyone. Unfortunately there were a couple of the stations that were not working and they were, of course, what the kids were most interested in.
