Smart Destinations Announces One Millionth Attraction Visitor
July 9, 2007 (Boston) – Smart Destinations marked their one millionth attraction visitor with a surprise celebration at Beantown Trolley last Friday. Sharon and Peter Jenkins with son Martin used a Go Boston™ Card for a 2 day Beantown Trolley Pass and became Smart Destinations’ one millionth attraction visitors. Co-Founders of Smart Destinations Kevin McLaughlin and Cecilia Dahl were on hand with their Boston-based team along with Larry Anzuoni of Brush Hill Tours to present the Jenkins family with a $500 American Express gift card and a basket filled with Boston souvenirs.
“We were just saying what a great value the Go Boston Card is,” noted Peter Jenkins when his family learned they were the millionth attraction visitors. Peter and family were visiting from Glasgow, Scotland and planned to spend the day on a Beantown Trolley Tour, one of the most popular attractions available in the Go Boston Card.
“Beantown Trolley epitomizes Boston tourism with a fully narrated hop-on hop-off tour. Many of our customers use the tour as a means of transportation to get from one attraction to the next while enjoying admissions along the way with their Go Boston Card. We are thrilled to be celebrating this milestone with our partner in tourism,” said Smart Destinations president Cecilia Dahl. “Not only has our company grown in the last several years through our partnership with the attractions in all of our markets, but we have also been able to contribute to a million wonderful memories.”
Go Boston Card was the first of Smart Destinations’ 11 all-inclusive attraction passes across the nation. Launched in 2003, the pass has grown to be one of the most popular ways for tourists to day to enjoy the entire Boston vacation experience.
Go Visitor Cards are now also available in the following US cities: San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, San Diego, Orlando, Miami, Oahu, and Los Angeles. The most recent additions include Go Blue Ridge Card and Go Maui Card, as well as a sister product line of Explorer Passes in New York City, Boston, and six other destinations. These smart card-enabled attraction passes give visitors and locals included admission to top attractions, as well as exclusive savings on restaurants, shopping, car rentals, and more.
“Smart Destinations offers an easy, affordable option for all types of travelers, and we are pleased to be part of the Go Boston Card,” said Larry Anzuoni, president of Brush Hill Tours, which operates the Beantown Trolley Tour and many other Boston tours. “It’s a win-win for the customer and the partner companies.”
