What is a Go San Diego Card?

A Go San Diego Card is a multi-attraction pass that gets you into 41 San Diego attractions plus one premium attraction on 3, 5 and 7-Day cards for one low price.

How does a Go San Diego Card Work?
  • Just purchase passes for the number of days you want to sightsee — we offer 1, 2, 3, 5, or 7-Day cards.
  • Your Go San Diego Card grants you admission to any of the included attractions for the number of days you bought the card for.
  • Simply present your pass at included attractions for admission between 9:00am and 5:30. Pay nothing at the gate.
  • Visiting your first attraction activates your card. Then, use it on consecutive calendar days. ?
How will I get my pass?

Instantly! Choose between 2 options:

  • Use your pass right on your phone with the free Go City Card app.
  • Print your pass and guidebook at home.

Links and easy-to-follow instructions for both options will be in your confirmation email.

What is the SeaWorld® bonus offer?

If you purchase a 3, 5 or 7-Day card, you can visit SeaWorld® on as many days as your card is valid. SeaWorld® is not included on 1 and 2 day cards.

Skip the Ticket Line at SeaWorld® when you choose Instant Delivery.

What else does the pass include?

You'll get a guide with detailed attraction descriptions, hours of operation, and a map to help plan your itinerary. Plus extra dining, shopping and entertainment discounts to help you save even more along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions Show All

What do you mean by "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row, on a calendar. A calendar day is not a 24-hour period.

For example, if you have a 3-Day Go San Diego Card and visit your first attraction on a Monday evening, it is valid for the remainder of Monday (1st calendar day) and the two days immediately following it: Tuesday (2nd calendar day), and Wednesday (3rd calendar day).

Tip: to get the most out of your pass, plan to visit attractions early in the day.

Is this just a discount card? Will I still need to buy tickets?

No. Passes include admission to each attraction; no need to pay anything at the gate. Some attractions may offer upgrades or special exhibits for an additional fee.

Do I need to choose my attractions in advance?

Nope, you can choose from the included attractions as you go.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

How will I get my pass?

Instantly! Choose between 2 options:

  • Use your pass right on your phone with the free Go City Card app.
  • Print your pass and guidebook at home.

Links and easy-to-follow instructions for both options will be in your confirmation email.

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions until 5:30 with the Go San Diego Card.

What is your refund policy?

You'll have a full year from the day you purchase your passes to receive a full refund, as long as they are unused. However, the passes are non-refundable once they're activated.

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 5-Day card.

Can I purchase passes on the spur of the moment when I arrive in San Diego?

Of course! With instant digital delivery, you can purchase and access passes right on your mobile device. Or, visit one of our local purchase locations.

Does a Go San Diego Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

Try our Savings Calculator to easily compare the combined gate prices of the attractions you want to visit with the price of the Go San Diego Card. Or, check out some real savings examples from Go City Card customers to see how much they actually saved!

We give you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and choose the attractions you want to visit depending on your interests.

For inspiration, check out some of our sample itineraries, insider tips, and more for info on all the fun things to do in San Diego so you can make the most of your time here.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Diego Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day from 9:00am to 5:30.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Diego Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Diego as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Can I share my pass with a friend or sell it?

No. The Go San Diego Card is non-transferrable and may not be re-sold.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Diego Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

I loved [the Go San Diego Card All-Inclusive Pass]. We used the three day pass and were able to go to the zoo, Sea World, several museums at Balboa Park […], the U.S.S. Midway, and a bay tour. It was such a great value. […] The app was really easy to use and it was very convenient to have the pass on our phone.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

I loved this pass. We used the three day pass and were able to go to the zoo, Sea World, several museums at Balboa Park (we really liked the Museum of Natural History), the U.S.S. Midway, and a bay tour. It was such a great value. We saved so much money by getting this pass. It was also nice to be able to have the guide on the app. It made it easy for us to plan our day and see which attractions we wanted to go see. The app was really easy to use and it was very convenient to have the pass on our phone. I didn't have to worry about losing tickets! It was also nice to be able to go straight to the turnstiles, not having to wait in long lines for tickets. These passes were just great. I would definitely get this pass again, and also look for the card for other available cities, too!

Saved money - got to see and do everything
By Kirby Y from Reno, Nevada on

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

We did the 7 day pass for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers. You have to be willing to do lots of things in a row as once you activate pass at first attraction your days start. We did save because we did at least 1 major attraction every day and sometimes more. It does save time on lines in some attractions. You do still have to pay for parking at some places and at San Diego Zoo Safari Park it is only admission included.

Would buy again!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

Took grandkids to San Diego for a week. Used our cards every day, often more than once. Saved money and did more things than we might have otherwise, since it was "already paid for." Also an easy way to keep the trip from getting overly expensive. If it wasn't covered by the card we could say "not on the card" and the kids moved on to another activity. (Although there were very few options that weren't on the card) Really liked the ease and value of the card.

This pass is the way to go if you want to save money!
By TKLD from SJ, Ca on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

It was fast and easy. Keep us busy for the whole week. The only annoying part was that it didn't work after 5pm for some places. Read the notes in advance of activity. Otherwise it was painless and we saved lots of money but the kids and husbands were tired.

3 Day Pass in SD
By Thickman from San Diego, CA on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

2nd time I have purchased this pass. My family and I came to SD and I wanted to give them the same experience I had the 1st time I purchased to go card. I recommend the 3 day and just force yourself to do everything possible, don't forget to call 1 day ahead to make reservations on the Harbor Cruise, kayaks, and potentially electric bikes.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

I printed out the card just in case I had trouble with showing the code on my cell phone. I had no trouble at all! We planned out where we wanted to go ahead of time and we were able to get in all the places we wanted to visit and saved hundreds of dollars in the process! Because of the savings, we actually went to an attraction because the savings were so good! Definitely would use the San Diego GO card again if I'm lucky enough to go back! Thank you!!!!!
