Frequently Asked Questions

What are "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row.

If you have a 3-Day card, and you visit your first attraction on a Monday, your card will be valid on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Start your day early to get the most out of your card!

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 5-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions until 5:30pm with the Go San Diego Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

Skip the Ticket Line at SeaWorld® when you choose Instant Delivery.

Which delivery method should I choose?

Instant delivery is the fastest and most popular option. You'll be able to access your Go San Diego Card from your email or on your phone immediately after you purchase. It also includes some added valued Skip the Line features at various attractions.

With instant delivery you will receive a printable and mobile version of our guidebook.

Having a physical card shipped in advance will save you time traveling to a pick up location when you get there. Note that transit times vary depending on shipping options. View delivery options. With shipped physical cards, you will get a full color printed guidebook but won’t get access to added value Skip the Line features that come with the digital delivery.

Do you ship Go San Diego Cards to hotels?

I have a voucher, where can I pick up my card?

View a list of in-city pickup locations where you can redeem your voucher for cards.

How much will I save?

We’ve made it easy to compare the combined gate prices with the price of the Go San Diego Card, to see how much you could save. Try our Savings Calculator!

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Diego Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Diego Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go San Diego Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

Can I share my Go San Diego Card with a friend, or sell it?

A Go San Diego Card is non-transferrable. Once you start using it, you are the only person who can use it to get into attractions. You must sign the signature strip on the back of the card and you may be asked to present an ID. Go San Diego Cards cannot be re-sold.

If you are traveling with a group, each traveller may be asked for proof of ID.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Diego Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Diego as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

I still have questions!

Many attractions are in Los Angeles.
By A's Family from Los Angeles, CA on
Pros:
Must-see attractions included, User-friendly system
Cons:
Few attractions included, Transportation not included Pricey product
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

I was disappointed to learn that many of the attractions were in Los Angeles. Like all the other "Go" cards, the hours for most of the attractions were 8-5. If you are interested in visiting the must-see attractions(besides the zoo), be prepared to drive for 2 hours to get there. You won't have any time to go to multiple attractions during that day. Other attractions were seasonal. This card would be great if you were planning on spending half of your time in San Diego and the other half in LA, but definitely not worth the money if you want to stay local.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

Our family of 4 was in San Diego in October for 5 days. With 2 kids we got all inclusive passes and saw everything for a great one time price. It was easy to purchase online and download from home so as soon as we got to SD we could go straight to the attraction. Most attractions don't require all day to finish them and with a 5 year old we didn't want or need to rush to get everything done as we could come back again if we didn't finish. The pass gives you flexibility to do everything when you want and at your own pace. One day we went to the SD zoo, it was packed! After 40 min of just trying to find parking in the huge lots we did something else and returned another day. We went to the big main attractions more than once while we were there. We went to SeaWorld 3 times as my kids liked the rides(over $800 value), LEGOLAND, the zoo, Belmont Park, museums, Planetarium, and went to the guidebook for ideas and did so many other options we never would have normally but the value of the pass made it worth it. Absolutely unbeatable value. We highly recommend this for families with kids. IT IS A MUST BUY! Do not see the SD attractions any other way.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

Good money saver but having to redeem the card at the ticket window everytime is a hassle. City card skips this step and you can go straight to the entrance without having to stand in the ticket window line.

Saved a bit of money, but inconvenient
By Tanya the Mom from Calgary, AB on
Pros:
Must-see attractions included, Money Saver
Cons:
Inflexible,
Best Uses:
Active travelers, Short Stays General Sightseeing Great for families
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

We wanted to visit the big (and expensive) attractions and looked around for deals. The Super Saver saved us about $11 per person from the best deals we found elsewhere (not much but it starts to add up) but having to do it all in consecutive days was a bit of a bummer. We did the San Diego Zoo, Legoland, and Sea World in 3 days and it was 3 very full, very long days to try and fit it all in. It would have been very nice to have a beach day in the middle to put up our feet and rest the kids.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

We were in San Diego for a week. Having all the tickets paid for in advance allowed us to maximize our sight seeing, plus have flexibility to get to special events and showings at parks, or break up long days and show days depending on how everyone in the group was holding up. The admission to the major parks paid for themselves, and we got a ton of minor attractions thrown in for free.

skeptical at first
By bob from houston on
Pros:
Use Many Times, Good That You Can Use For
Cons:
Before 500pm,
Best Uses:
Many Attractions,
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

I was skeptical at first I did not know how it works . But after I purchases the tickets the best deal is it save you money if you use time management to visit all the attractions but the bad deal is that you have to rush to beat the time limit before 5:30pm. Anyway it saved me money instead of buying individual ticket at each site.
