Belmont Park San Diego features excitement galore, including bumper cars, arcade games, thrill rides and the famous Giant Dipper roller coaster. Get ready for an ocean view from atop a roller coaster. Pair this with a cold slushy to make for a perfect day!

Roller coasters, bumper cars, carousels, arcades, and a wonderful breeze coming off the water - what more could you want on a beautiful summer day? Belmont Park is an action-packed, palm tree-lined amusement park right on the coast, and it is the place to soak up those Southern California rays while enjoying the hustle and bustle of an amusement park! An unlimited wristband lets you ride as many times as you want!

Belmont Park San Diego is the city's only beachfront amusement center and home to the Giant Dipper, a rollercoaster built in 1925 that has since been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The Giant Dipper is comprised of 2,500 feet of track and thirteen heart-pounding hills, complete with a picture perfect view at the top!

In addition to the world famous Giant Dipper, here's a look at just some of the excitement that awaits you at Belmont Park:

  • Beach Blaster: A super-thrilling four-seater that swings riders 60 feet in the air and 120 degrees in both directions while giving you prime ocean views!
  • Control Freak: A unique passenger-controlled ride that flips you upside down and all around, over and over.
  • Krazy Kars: A wild and “krazy” bumper car ride with a twist!
  • Vertical Plunge: A kiddie-thrill ride sure to excite your little ones!

…and many others! Satisfy your post-ride hunger with some classic “boardwalk” food at any of the park’s eight dining vendors. Play a round of mini-golf, and don’t miss the chance to pick up some beach apparel or get a henna tattoo at one of the park’s stores.

PLUS, the new upgrades to include Unlimited Laser Tag, Mini
Golf, Sky Ropes, Sky Climb, Rock Wall
AND 2 consecutive turns on the Zip Line!

Great!
By Nikki from Hampton, Iowa on

Comments about Smart Destinations Belmont Park All Access Combo Pass:

The rides were super dated, which is where the appeal probably is. We had a 4-year-old and a 7-year-old and there was plenty for each of them to do. My son especially loved the wooden roller coaster that gave awesome shots of the ocean. Included in the go-card admission, my kids got to climb the rock wall, spend time on the ropes course, and zip-line! Since the park sits on Mission Beach, we went right from there down to the ocean. Mission beach was my favorite beach we went to. Parking was almost impossible but if you've got time to drive around and wait for something to open up, you're fine. Don't skip it!

Comments about Smart Destinations Belmont Park All Access Combo Pass:

Be prepared for vintage amusement park (not Six Flags). The rides were enjoyable and we rode them many times, but the other activities are what kept us there. The laser tag, laser maze, and rock wall kept my 10, 17, and 19 year olds occupied for hours. Check hours as in winter the activities are limited (except on weekends). Stay late to avoid traffic!

Great for younger kids

Comments about Smart Destinations Belmont Park All Access Combo Pass:

Took a HS group to the park. One ride on each was plenty for that age so we probably didn't get our money's worth, but for preteens I think it would have been worth the money. Somewhat misleading to see a picture of a Ferris Wheel online and then not have one at the park.

Nice addition to a day at the beach!
By Dan and Me Verified Reviewer from Phoenix, AZ on
Pros:
Local Artists, Entertainment, Shopping
Cons:
Seems Iffy At Night
Best Uses:
Daytime Beach Enjoyment
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Belmont Park All Access Combo Pass:

Belmont Park is directly on the beach so you can enjoy the sand and water but take breaks to ride rides, get refreshments, and do some beach shopping. We went during the week when the crowds were less and had no problems finding parking. No problems using my Android Smartphone to use my Smartdestinations purchase at the ticket booth. Seems to be a wonderful family place during the day. Night time brought out a lot of intoxicated persons who might have been homeless.

Comments about Smart Destinations Belmont Park All Access Combo Pass:

This is a place we would have not visited if it weren't for the Go- San Diego card. The kids had a great time going on all of the rides and the short wait times. The beach is right there to visit. Cute little shops and stands to purchase inexpensive souvenirs and beach equipment.

A San Diego landmark
By LovetheSun Verified Reviewer from Portland, OR on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Belmont Park All Access Combo Pass:

My friends from San Diego urged us to check this out since it's a "landmark" in town. It's the perfect beach-side amusement park with all of the things that reminded me of the beach when I was a kid... plus a wooden roller coaster! We had a great time here with the rides and it is also right mext to the Wavehouse, which is a beach bar (actually on the sand), and stopped there to have a few drinks. We had a blast! The beach here isn't the prettiest in San Diego... however it's right on the board walk and great for people watching and going for a beach side stroll. I would definitely recommend.

Ride the roller coaster over the ocean!
By Carrie Verified Reviewer from San Diego, CA on
Pros:
Family friendly, Views, Fun for everyone, Great date spot, Vintage Amusement Park
Cons:
Rides more geared to kids, Rides are older
Best Uses:
Wavehouse next door, Fun day at the beach, Arcade and Roller Coaster
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Belmont Park All Access Combo Pass:

Belmont is a great spot to take friends or family, or a date, for the day. Bring your beach gear since it sits on a great stretch of beach in Mission Bay. Ride the coaster a few times and get some great ocean shots... there are a bunch of kiddie rides there too but if you're just visiting as adults, head over to the Wavehouse next door to watch people on the surfing simulator and grab great food and drink in front of the crashing waves. This is a fun spot for beach time for all ages.
