Get ready to be drenched. This major water park features 33 acres of rides and attractions, including the Pacific Spin, a 132-foot long tunnel that plummets riders into a six-story funnel. There's plenty for little ones, too, including family rafts on a lazy river.
"It never rains in Southern California"...so you will probably want to take advantage and soak up some rays while you're there! Heat things up and then cool yourself down at San Diego County's largest water adventure park, Knott's Soak City Waterpark. Bring the whole family along, because this is an amazingly refreshing way to spend a warm day in sunny San Diego!
Sitting on 33 acres of prime real-estate just minutes from Downtown San Diego, Soak City offers an intense layout of spaghetti-like rides and attractions for even the bravest traveler, including the Pacific Spin, a 132-foot long tunnel that plummets riders 75 feet below into a six-story funnel...definitely not for the faint of heart! Of course, there's plenty to do at Soak City if the idea of high-speed water rides gives you...ahem..."Knotts" in your stomach. The younger members of your party can practice their game faces on the Tykes Trough kid's slides in preparation for when they are tall enough to ride the grown-up slides. Kids can climb their hearts out at Dick's Beach House, a monstrous, over-water climbing frame featuring two junior body slides. The Coronado Express lets families cruise together on group rafts, and Gremmie Lagoon is a safe place for young surf-enthusiasts to splash around carelessly. Perhaps you really just want to let the kids do their thing and work on your tan, in which case you can grab a float and cruise down the lazy river, lay out on one of the many water-side pool chairs, or even rent a family cabana!
Knott's Soak City San Diego provides lockers, should you need to stash your valuables for the day. You'll most likely swim yourself hungry by mid-day, so the park offers a variety of refreshments and snack options including Casa Ortega Burritos and Surf Daddy's Pizza. If you forget your towel, WipeOut! Surf Shop sells seasonal clothing, merchandise and souvenirs that will remind you of your aquatic excursion in San Diego for years to come.
Don't let the heat keep you indoors in the A/C. Knott's Soak City San Diego is one of the area's coolest attractions, and is well worth a visit. Don't forget your sunscreen!
