Description

Free Aero Andy gift with your admission! Airplane and history buffs won't want to miss the San Diego Air & Space Museum, housed in the historic Ford Building from the 1935 California-Pacific International Exposition. See a reproduction of the Wright Brothers 1903 Flyer and other models of early flight, and try your hand at the Piper Cub Simulator. Marvel at the antics of the barnstormers and relive the history of aviation through airmen's experiences of WWI and WWII. Imagine what it's like to travel into space as you get a close up and personal view of NASA's Apollo 9 Command Module. Daily Restoration Tours show you just how much work has gone into building or reconditioning the museum's planes and engines.

Hours:

Daily, 10:00 am-4:00 pm. Hours subject to change. (Free admission for San Diego County residents and active duty military and their families on the 4th Tuesday of each month)

Driving:

From Interstate 5 S: Take the 10th Street exit; turn left on A Street.; turn left on 12th Street (which becomes Park Blvd.); turn left at President's Way (you are now in Balboa Park); when you come to the stop sign, the Museum will be to your left with parking right in front. From Interstate 5 N: Take the B Street Pershing exit; stay on B Street; turn right on 12th (which becomes Park Blvd.); turn left at President's Way (you are now in Balboa Park); when you come to the stop sign, the Museum will be to your left with parking right in front.

Regular general admission is included with Go San Diego Card. Any special exhibits might require an upgrade fee. Go San Diego Cardholders will have a special rate for the upgrade if applicable.

The Go City Card is accepted until 5:30pm unless otherwise noted; during all other times standard admission will apply.
