How it works

What is a Go San Francisco Card?

A Go San Francisco Card is an attraction pass that gets you into 26 San Francisco attractions for one low price.

How does a Go San Francisco Card Work?
  • Just select how many days you want to sightsee — we offer 1, 2, 3, 5, or 7-Day cards.
  • Your Go San Francisco Card grants you admission to all 26 attractions for the number of days you bought the card for.
  • Simply present your pass at included attractions .
  • Visiting your first attraction activates your card. Then, use it on consecutive calendar days. ?
How will I receive my pass?

You can choose to receive your pass:

  • Instantly on your mobile device and via email. Just print out your pass or display it right on your mobile device. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Physical Card via Mail. Includes a full-color guidebook.
What else does the pass include?

You'll get a guidebook with detailed attraction descriptions, hours of operation, and a map to help plan your itinerary. Plus extra dining, shopping and entertainment discounts to help you save even more along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions Show All

What do you mean by "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row, on a calendar. A calendar day is not a 24-hour period.

For example, if you have a 3-Day Go San Francisco Card and visit your first attraction on a Monday evening, it is valid for the remainder of Monday (1st calendar day) and the two days immediately following it: Tuesday (2nd calendar day), and Wednesday (3rd calendar day).

Tip: to get the most out of your pass, plan to visit attractions early in the day.

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions any time with the Go San Francisco Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

Please note: Activated passes are non-refundable.

Which delivery method should I choose?
  • Instant delivery is the fastest option. You'll be able to access your Go San Francisco Card from your email or on your phone immediately after you purchase.
With instant delivery you will receive a printable and mobile version of our guidebook.
  • Having your cards shipped in advance will save you time traveling to a pick up location when you get there. Note that transit times vary depending on shipping options. View delivery options.
Do you ship Go San Francisco Cards to hotels?

Sorry, we cannot ship to hotels because of delivery concerns.

Where can I buy the cards in San Francisco?

View a list of purchase locations in San Francisco. Note that in-city purchases are available for full price only.

Does a Go San Francisco Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

We’ve made it easy to compare the combined gate prices with the price of the Go San Francisco Card, to see how much you could save. Try our Savings Calculator!

We give you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and choose the attractions you want to visit depending on your interests.

For inspiration, check out some of our sample itineraries, insider tips, and more for info on all the fun things to do in San Francisco so you can make the most of your time here.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Francisco Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

May I use a Go San Francisco Card to visit Alcatraz Island?

If you purchase a 3-day or 5-day Go San Francisco Card directly from Alcatraz Cruises, you may visit Alcatraz Island (subject to reservations and availability). View more Alcatraz information.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Francisco Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Francisco as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Can I share my pass with a friend or sell it?

No. The Go San Francisco Card is non-transferrable and may not be re-sold.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Francisco Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go San Francisco Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

I still have questions!

Please feel free to call us at 866‑628‑9028 and we’ll be happy to help you!

Note: A Go San Francisco Card is non-transferable. This means that once you start using it, you are the only person who can use it to get into attractions. Go San Francisco Cards may not be re-sold.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

Using the go card at the places we visited was very simple. Our biggest set back was the only transportation available with this card a hop on hop off bus was terrible. Wasted so much time that we could not see half of what we wanted. If you have your own transportation this is a great option.

For first time visitors this was a fantastic product! We saw and did so much, I don't think we would have done half of the attractions had we not bought the cards! Saved over £300!! Wish we could have had a booklet giving us all the details of the attraction included( had to print)

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

It is too easy to use, but read carefully the guide because some attractions you will need to redeem for a ticket first. All the majors sight-seeing were included. It was worth it!!! The only thing that I think could get better is that you can only use the pass until 5:30pm.

Smart Destinations Response: Hi Dani, We are really happy to hear that you had a great time using the Go San Francisco Card! We do want to note that you CAN use it past 5:30 p.m. There are no longer any time restrictions for using the passes in San Francisco. Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know how we can improve.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

After chasing around Bloomingdales looking for the concierge desk, found that the free cable car/tram rides had been discontinued a year ago, yet was still offered. Segway tours were only available on very specific times and the coupon appeared to offer free use and pay for the tour when in actual fact, a general discount applied. This coupon was not very specific. The bus tour and the bike use was great. Didn't take long to cover our costs.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

I felt rushed. I had to plan ahead to make sure I got everything in. In the end I might have only saved 20-30 bucks because we couldn't do everything! Motherinlaw was with us and she slowed us down. Went to six flags and had to wait an hour in customer service line. That was the most frustrating!
