What is a Go San Francisco Card?

A Go San Francisco Card is a multi-attraction pass that gets you into 27 San Francisco attractions for one low price.

How does a Go San Francisco Card Work?
  • Just purchase passes for the number of days you want to sightsee — we offer 1, 2, 3, or 5-Day cards.
  • Your Go San Francisco Card grants you admission to any of the included attractions for the number of days you bought the card for.
  • Simply present your pass at included attractions for admission. Pay nothing at the gate.
  • Visiting your first attraction activates your card. Then, use it on consecutive calendar days. ?
How will I get my pass?

Instantly! Choose between 2 options:

  • Use your pass right on your phone with the free Go City Card app.
  • Print your pass and guidebook at home.

Links and easy-to-follow instructions for both options will be in your confirmation email.

What else does the pass include?

You'll get a guide with detailed attraction descriptions, hours of operation, and a map to help plan your itinerary. Plus extra dining, shopping and entertainment discounts to help you save even more along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions Show All

What do you mean by "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row, on a calendar. A calendar day is not a 24-hour period.

For example, if you have a 3-Day Go San Francisco Card and visit your first attraction on a Monday evening, it is valid for the remainder of Monday (1st calendar day) and the two days immediately following it: Tuesday (2nd calendar day), and Wednesday (3rd calendar day).

Tip: to get the most out of your pass, plan to visit attractions early in the day.

Is this just a discount card? Will I still need to buy tickets?

No. Passes include admission to each attraction; no need to pay anything at the gate. Some attractions may offer upgrades or special exhibits for an additional fee.

Do I need to choose my attractions in advance?

Nope, you can choose from the included attractions as you go.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

How will I get my pass?

Instantly! Choose between 2 options:

  • Use your pass right on your phone with the free Go City Card app.
  • Print your pass and guidebook at home.

Links and easy-to-follow instructions for both options will be in your confirmation email.

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

Is my card valid all day?

Yes. You can enter attractions any time with the Go San Francisco Card.

What is your refund policy?

You'll have a full year from the day you purchase your passes to receive a full refund, as long as they are unused. However, the passes are non-refundable once they're activated.

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

May I use a Go San Francisco Card to visit Alcatraz Island?

If you purchase a 3-day or 5-day Go San Francisco Card directly from Alcatraz Cruises, you may visit Alcatraz Island (subject to reservations and availability). View more Alcatraz information.

Can I purchase passes on the spur of the moment when I arrive in San Francisco?

Of course! With instant digital delivery, you can purchase and access passes right on your mobile device. Or, visit one of our local purchase locations.

Does a Go San Francisco Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

Try our Savings Calculator to easily compare the combined gate prices of the attractions you want to visit with the price of the Go San Francisco Card. Or, check out some real savings examples from Go City Card customers to see how much they actually saved!

We give you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and choose the attractions you want to visit depending on your interests.

For inspiration, check out some of our sample itineraries, insider tips, and more for info on all the fun things to do in San Francisco so you can make the most of your time here.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Francisco Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Francisco Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Francisco as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Can I share my pass with a friend or sell it?

No. The Go San Francisco Card is non-transferrable and may not be re-sold.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Francisco Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

I still have questions!

Please feel free to call us at 800‑887‑9103 and we’ll be happy to help you!

Note: A Go San Francisco Card is non-transferable. This means that once you start using it, you are the only person who can use it to get into attractions. Go San Francisco Cards may not be re-sold.

Great 3 Day SF Vacay
By JC from Richmond, CA on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francisco Card® All-Inclusive Pass:

We live in the Bay Area that it seemed silly not to go to the places I haven't visited since I was a child. So as our mini staycation, we chose the 3 day all inclusive. Started out the California Academy of Science and ended up at De Young Museum. Next day, stayed all day at Great America. On the last day, we went to the Legion of Honor, drove to the Asian Art Museum, then spent a good chunk of it sight seeing at Pier 39 while making time to go to the Aquarium of the Bay and Ripley's Believe or not. We ended the day at the Exploratorium until they closed. Whew. We were exhausted. Totally worth it. Definitely recommend.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francisco Card® All-Inclusive Pass:

Very easy to use and admission to attractions was fast with phone app. We really wanted to go to Muir Woods and the tour was included, which really added value. We went to several attractions that we would have skipped otherwise.

Questionable Purchase
By Disappointed from Houston, TX on
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francisco Card® All-Inclusive Pass:

This discount worked for the Aquarium and SF Museum of Modern Art. Terrible for sightseeing--had to get to a specific location to get tickets for city tour bus and the service was terrible! Never used it for the cable cars because the lines were too long, so this was a waste of money.

Glad we bought it
By Mike from Queens, NY on
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francisco Card® All-Inclusive Pass:

Definitely saved money buying the Go SF Card as we were able to visit attractions that my 9 and 8 year old wanted to see, but that I would not have necessarily wanted to waste money on if I had to buy the tickets separately (i.e. Madame Tussad's, SF Dungeon, etc.). In addition my children were not particularly interested in spending more than an hour or two at any one museum or attraction. By buying the pass we didn't feel pressured to "get our money's worth" at any one place - we looked at the exhibits we wanted and skipped the rest. The other nice thing was the admission to Six Flags since we are big fans of amusement parks. The only caution I share is that if you are going to do the on-and-off bus ride you should check the stops and pick-up times in advance since they run every half hour or so.
