Frequently Asked Questions Show All

What do you mean by "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row, on a calendar. A calendar day is not a 24-hour period.

For example, if you have a 3-Day Go San Francisco Card and visit your first attraction on a Monday evening, it is valid for the remainder of Monday (1st calendar day) and the two days immediately following it: Tuesday (2nd calendar day), and Wednesday (3rd calendar day).

Tip: to get the most out of your pass, plan to visit attractions early in the day.

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions any time with the Go San Francisco Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

Please note: Activated passes are non-refundable.

Which delivery method should I choose?
  • Instant delivery is the fastest option. You'll be able to access your Go San Francisco Card from your email or on your phone immediately after you purchase.
With instant delivery you will receive a printable and mobile version of our guidebook.
  • Having your cards shipped in advance will save you time traveling to a pick up location when you get there. Note that transit times vary depending on shipping options. View delivery options.
Do you ship Go San Francisco Cards to hotels?

Sorry, we cannot ship to hotels because of delivery concerns.

Where can I buy the cards in San Francisco?

View a list of purchase locations in San Francisco. Note that in-city purchases are available for full price only.

Does a Go San Francisco Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

We’ve made it easy to compare the combined gate prices with the price of the Go San Francisco Card, to see how much you could save. Try our Savings Calculator!

We give you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and choose the attractions you want to visit depending on your interests.

For inspiration, check out some of our sample itineraries, insider tips, and more for info on all the fun things to do in San Francisco so you can make the most of your time here.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Francisco Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

May I use a Go San Francisco Card to visit Alcatraz Island?

If you purchase a 3-day or 5-day Go San Francisco Card directly from Alcatraz Cruises, you may visit Alcatraz Island (subject to reservations and availability). View more Alcatraz information.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Francisco Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Francisco as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Can I share my pass with a friend or sell it?

No. The Go San Francisco Card is non-transferrable and may not be re-sold.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Francisco Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go San Francisco Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

I still have questions!

Please feel free to call us at 866‑628‑9028 and we’ll be happy to help you!

Note: A Go San Francisco Card is non-transferable. This means that once you start using it, you are the only person who can use it to get into attractions. Go San Francisco Cards may not be re-sold.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

The thing to remember about using the Go Card is you have to be organized! Before the trip I looked up the hours to all of the places I wanted to visit and planned out each day since there are restrictions on the hours you can visit attractions and the number of like events (such as boat cruises) you can do in a single day. For the most part everyone seemed to know what we should do with the go card and they were very helpful. It certainly did not help us avoid the lines at Six Flags. The line we had to wait in to get the tickets was actually the longest line. I almost paid for the 3 of us to go in because I was tired of waiting in line so long. They were the only ones who had difficulty scanning them from my phone.

Pros:
Good Value, Flexible Schedule, Money Saver, Must-see attractions included
Cons:
Print It Dont Use App,
Best Uses:
Budget Travelers, Wine Tour, Great for families,
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

I was skeptical about purchasing the Go Card it seemed too good to be true. But I am so glad that I did. The Wine Tour alone was well worth the value as well as the Duck Tour (land and sea). The admission process was very easy just make sure you have a printed copy with your barcode or mobile app...and make reservations. Most attractions require a reservation, and be on time.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

We purchased a 3 day pass - over the three days we saved US$109 on what we would have paid had we purchased entry to the attractions we visited individually. To get the best value you must do your research to ensure the attractions suit you, and be realistic about how many attractions you can get to in a day. The pass was easy to use, readily accepted at all listed attractions, and we would definitely use a Go Card on future visits to the US.
