Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
If you plan ahead of time, you'll get the most value for the card. Alcatraz is not included, so plan your Alcatraz trip either before you start using the card, or after the card has expired. My husband and I honeymooned with this card and had an awesome time! The science museum is amazing and has an aquarium in it that is, in my opinion better than the aquarium that's on Fishermans Wharf.
Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
Alcatraz is included, but only if you buy your card(s) from Alcatraz. We went there to purchase the 3-day cards (6 people) and to make reservations for Alcatraz on a future date. The man there was unbelievably rude about the card; treated us like we were stupid, but we had done lots of research and knew we wanted the cards and knew the rules of use. If we hadn't done so much research, his attitude would have changed our minds. I don't understand why we could only buy them thru Alcatraz because it did not cost more to do so. Using the cards was great. The only thing I didn't like was having to find Coffee Adventures to get our cable car tickets. That was very inconvenient. We chose to spend a day down in Monterey for whale watching and exploring that fisherman's wharf, then another day at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. That meant that we had only one more day to cram in everything else we wanted to do in SF. 5-day cards would have been better for us, except for the money. We did the Golden Gate bay cruise, then tried to get to Golden Gate Park via Muni (city bus). After spending about 1 1/2 hours, we only made it 1/2 way there, so we had to give up. Very disappointed that we were unable to go to California Academy of Sciences. No idea it would be so hard to get there. There was just no way to do it time-wise, since most things close early, and you can't use the cards after 5:30 anyway. Weird because Aquarium of the Bay is open until 8 pm. We had to spend time getting back to where we started because our Alcatraz reservation was that afternoon. On the same day, though, we were able to make it to Alcatraz, Aquarium of the Bay, S.S. Jeremiah O'Brien, and ride the cable car. Wish we hadn't bothered with the cable car after all. All in all, I'm glad we bought the cards, and it was well worth the money. Even though we had our car, I do wish transportation was included. (I don't count the cable car as real transportation as it took forever to wait for a car with any room on it.) SF was supposed to be easily navigable, but we found that the various maps all have flaws, and even our GPS couldn't figure out how to get to some areas. If the card included transportation, that would have been a great help.
Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
Needs to specify that most attractions can be used more than once. For example I was able to take the double decker trolley tour bus twice but on different days!! And I didnt realize I could ride the cable car each day I tought it was just for one day....

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
I wasn't sure about this purchase, but I quickly discovered how useful it was. The booklet alone is invaluable. It was my bible during the vacation. We found things to do that we wouldn't have done without it. Our most favorite experience was the bike ride over the Golden Gate Bridge, which I never thought about myself. We had extra time in our day and that was it. Wish there was more restaurant discounts. Not sure the one-way trolley car ticket is useful - we ended up buying a week pass instead (there are 6 of us). Other than that - I've told friends about it since we've been home. I would buy another in a second to visit another city! Looking into NYC or Boston!! Thanks!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
This is an awsome tool. Study the booklet. It was so helpful to know what we wanted to do and where we wanted to go in the limited time we had to play in San Francisco. Tis was our first trip, so taking advantage of the many benefits and opportunities available through using the GoCard made for a spectular mothers day weekend. The wide aray of activities listed in the booklet and convenience of use of the card made a short trip even more special. My daughter and I traveled to San Francisco with high expectations of visiting the California Science Academy and Bay Aquarium. Wow! what a bonus. The savings on the admission prices for just these two activities was well worth the time I put into the research and purchase of the GoCard. Wonderful, Wonderful, Wonderful Experience.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
We found this card to be such a value! The wine country tour alone made it worth the price, but we also used it to get the discount for Alcatraz, the red and white fleet bay cruise, the grayline skyview tour, entry to the aquarium, wax museum, deyoung museum, and academy of sciences, and discounts at restaurants! It was so valuable to us to make the most of our time in San Francisco! We got the three day pass.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
brought a 5 day pass and saved over $100. Makes you plan your time and research places before your visit. Didn't use for Alcatraz as can only buy tickets on day. When we were there tickets sold out the day before. If we had relied on the go-card we wouldn't have been able to go.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:
We bought two 3-day go San Francisco Cards in December 2009 for our honeymoon. The Go Cards have great values if you can use it for most of the attractions. Especially the Cruise, the winery tour (if you like tasting wine), city tours, and the museums. For the Muri Wood and 17 miles tours, you can get 40-60% discount, but you still need to pay some of it.However, the quality of the Go Card was poor. The first day we tried to get the cable car tickets, but were told that one of the cards was not working. We spent 20-30 minutes to contact the customer services hotline (because there was only one person working during the Sundays, and unfortunately, we had that problem on Sunday.)to figure out the reason. Then we were directed to go to the Fishermans Wharf, called the customer services number again (another 10-15 minutes waiting), had them fax the info to the local ticket office, and exchanged a new card. It took us almost the whole morning of our first day of trip to deal with this problem. The lady in the local ticket office told us that they had this problem once a while due to the poor quality of the cards, we were not the first ones. Later on during the trip, we experienced some other problems, e.g. at the Aquarium of the bay, our cards can't be read by their machine, and ect. Also, the Go Cards are not very easy to use, unless you stay very close to Fishermans Wharf. You need to use the Go Card to get tickets for almost everything (except the Museums), and almost all the ticket offices are located in Fishermans Wharf.
