How it works

What is a Go San Francisco Card?

A Go San Francisco Card is an attraction pass that gets you into 31 San Francisco attractions for one low price.

How does a Go San Francisco Card Work?
  • Just select how many days you want to sightsee — we offer 1, 2, 3, 5, or 7-Day cards.
  • Your Go San Francisco Card grants you admission to all 31 attractions for the number of days you bought the card for.
  • Simply present your pass at included attractions between 9:00am and 5:30pm.
  • Visiting your first attraction activates your card. Then, use it on consecutive calendar days.
How will I receive my pass?

You can choose to receive your pass:

  • Instantly on your smartphone — the most popular choice. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Instantly print at home — just print it and go. Includes a digital guidebook.
  • Physical Card via Mail. Includes a full-color guidebook.
  • Pick it up at one of our in-city pickup locations.
What else does the pass include?

You'll get a guidebook with detailed attraction descriptions, hours of operation, and a map to help plan your itinerary. Plus extra dining, shopping and entertainment discounts to help you save even more along the way.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row.

If you have a 3-Day card, and you visit your first attraction on a Monday, your card will be valid on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Start your day early to get the most out of your card!

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 3-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions until 5:30pm with the Go San Francisco Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

Please note: Activated passes are non-refundable.

Does a Go San Francisco Card expire?

How much will I save?

We’ve made it easy to compare the combined gate prices with the price of the Go San Francisco Card, to see how much you could save. Try our Savings Calculator!

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Francisco Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day from 9:00am to 5:30pm.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Francisco Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go San Francisco Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

May I use a Go San Francisco Card to visit Alcatraz Island?

If you purchase a 3-day or 5-day Go San Francisco Card directly from Alcatraz Cruises, you may visit Alcatraz Island (subject to reservations and availability). View more Alcatraz information.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Francisco Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Francisco as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

The wine tour was excellent. It was a very relaxing and comfortable way to see Sonoma and Napa. The tour bus driver was knowlegeable and very accomodating. The 3 wineries we visited all gave us good tours and nice wine tastings. All wine tastings were included in the price. We also visited the California Academy of Sciences and Aquarium of the Bay. Both are nice stops. The hop on hop off option was never used since we tried using it once and waited over 45 minutes and no bus came. Others who were waiting with us were also not pleased with this. At the time of our purchase the Madame Tussaunds Wax Museum was clearly an option. However, when we tried using it there it is was denied. The ticket office attendant apologized and even had her manager see if he could assist. Apparently, the San Francisco Go brochures were not updated. He said many others also tried to use the card here but had to be turned away. The best he could do was give discounted tickets. Therefore, my recommendation to all who buy this card is to call ahead of time to make sure the venue you are interested in is still being offered before heading out to the place. All in all, though, I would recommend the purchase of this card. There is great savings by purchasing this card if you plan well.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

I live about an hour outside of San Francisco (in the San Jose area) and, on a whim, took a weekend trip to San Francisco. I came across the GoCard in my online research and was delighted at the number of attractions I could have access to for one low price. I spent an hour creating a two-day visit-as-many-places-as-you-can itinerary using the digital booklet (VERY helpful). The only ticket I purchased separately was for a boat ride and audio tour of Alcatraz (an absolute MUST SEE!!!). I wish this, too, was included in the price. Still, it was a great bargain. Pay particular attention to attraction closing times to get the most out of your time and purchase. I was also able to use the digital pass, as I had purchased a last-minute GoCard, with no difficulties. My phone did the trick!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

I take my family in yearly trips to different cities in the West have have used The Go Card 3 other times. Never had any problems and every-thing went smoothly. My family was very impressed. They thought I was a professional tour guide; where as Go Card was the tour guide. Use it or lose it was my motto. From age 8 to age 74, all were pleased and kept up, even though we were go, go, go! I look forward to my Next Smart Destination City I visit. The only problem is I dont know which one to chose.

Smart Buy
By Vacation Dad from Ontario, CA on
Pros:
Great Value, Great attractions
Best Uses:
Six flags, Bay cruise Bay Aquarium
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Francsico Card:

We used it at Six Flags and The Bay Aquarium and Bay Cruise at Pier 39. We would have used it at other locations if we had the time. Definitely a money saver as admission to all of these attractions would have totaled more than the cost of the pass. We enjoyed the experience and it was not hard to redeem. For Six Flags, you have to visit the Guest Services booth which had a long line at the time, but one of the managers helped us out right away and we didn't have to wait long. They do not scan the barcode at the gate.
