Description
Mission San Carlos Borromeo was the second mission of 21 founded in California. Visitors enjoy the four museums, the many vibrant gardens, and the historic Basilica-which is still an active church. The founder and first president of the California missions, Father Junipero Serra, is buried here.

From Highway One take Rio Road west 3/4 mile. Parking available in front of the Mission Grounds.
