Description

With the opening of its new building on June 8, 2008, the Contemporary Jewish Museum ushered in a new chapter in its 20-plus year history of engaging audiences and artists in exploring contemporary perspectives on Jewish culture, history, art, and ideas. The new facility, designed by internationally renowned architect Daniel Libeskind, is a lively center where people of all ages and backgrounds can gather to experience art, share diverse perspectives, and engage in hands-on activities. Upcoming 2009 Exhibits: Jews on Vinyl (Feb. 6-Jun. 9), The Dorothy Saxe Invitational - New Works/Old Story: 80 Artists at the Passover Table (Feb. 27-Jun. 2), Chagall and the Artists of the Russian Jewish Theater 1919-1949 (Apr. 23-Sept. 7), and Susan Hiller's J Street Project (Jun. 17-Oct. 20).

VIP Extra: Skip the Line! Every Sunday from 1:00 pm-3:00 pm, families can enjoy free drop-in art-making programs in the Sala Webb Education Center.
