Kunde Family Estate is one of the north coast’s premier wine estates. Located in the Sonoma Valley, the family’s scenic 1,850-acre estate has been managed by five generations since 1904. The winery, built in 1990, produces ultra-premium wines under the guidance of winemaker Tim Bell.

Today, the Kunde family sustainably farms twenty grape varietals on 700-acres of estate vineyards. These ecological efforts were rewarded in 2008 when Kunde Family Estate won a Governor’s Environmental and Economic Leadership Award (GEELA), the State of California’s highest environmental honor, and in 2010, was one of the first wineries certified sustainable by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.

Hours

Daily, 10:30 am–4:30 pm;
Guided tours of aging caves every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the day at no charge and without appointment for groups of ten or less. To schedule a private or group tour, please contact us.

Closed

The Tasting Room is closed on the following days: New Year’s Day,Easter Sunday,Thanksgiving Day,and Christmas Day. All holiday hours are subject to change without notice.

Driving Directions

From San Francisco: Crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, go north on the 101 Freeway through Marin, approx. 18 miles. Just past Ignacio exit, take Hwy. 37 East to Infineon Raceway, approx. 7 miles. Left onto Hwy. 121. When 121 turns right (signs saying “to Sonoma”) do not turn, but continue straight. This road becomes Arnold Dr. Stay on Arnold Dr. Do not turn left on Hwy. 116 to Petaluma, but continue straight. You will come to a 3-way intersection. Turn right on Madrone Rd. This road dead ends into Hwy. 12. Left on Hwy. 12. Continue for 5 miles. Estate will be on your right just before the town of Kenwood.
