Provocative, insightful, and amusing, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts is San Francisco's premier venue for visual art, dance, theater, music, and film. Examining the intersection between pop culture and contemporary art, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts features top contemporary artists from the Bay Area and beyond. The YBCA explores the ability of humans to use creative expression to passionately engage with each other and with the world. The YBCA is home to thought-provoking and quirky exhibits and performances that will delight any scholar of art or enthusiast of understanding through diversity, art and expression.
YBCA reminds visitors that in this museum, “art is not a spectator sport….it is instead about the rare opportunity to be provoked in a smart way and walk away with more questions than answers. It’s about rethinking your assumptions and questioning your presumptions…it’s about connecting with each other and creating a richly-textured, deeply-meaningful life…” Get in touch with your human neighbors and connect with the world of art and the visual at YBCA, San Francisco’s innovative and vibrant center for the visual and performing arts.
Please note that backpacks and large bags are not permitted in the galleries. All YBCA buildings are wheelchair-accessible.
Please Note: The pass is only valid for the contemporary art galleries. It's not valid for any opening night parties or other special events.
Comments about Smart Destinations Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA):
Was somewhat in the area after visiting the Asian Art Museum (a must see), so I dropped in here. There was an Asian artist iinstallation on display -- Song Dong. The videos & photos felt personal. If this is an example of what YBCA offers than I reccommend it whole heartedly.
