How it works

What do you mean by "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row, on a calendar. A calendar day is not a 24-hour period.

For example, if you have a 3-Day Go San Diego Card and visit your first attraction on a Monday evening, it is valid for the remainder of Monday (1st calendar day) and the two days immediately following it: Tuesday (2nd calendar day), and Wednesday (3rd calendar day).

Tip: to get the most out of your pass, plan to visit attractions early in the day.

Is this just a discount card? Will I still need to buy tickets?

No. Passes include admission to each attraction; no need to pay anything at the gate. Some attractions may offer upgrades or special exhibits for an additional fee.

Do I need to choose my attractions in advance?

Nope, you can choose from the included attractions as you go.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

How will I get my pass?

Instantly on your smart phone and via email!

  • Just print out your pass and guidebook.
  • Or, display it on your smart phone.
How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

Is my card valid all day?

Yes. You can enter attractions any time with the Go San Diego Card.

What is your refund policy?

You'll have a full year from the day you purchase your passes to receive a full refund, as long as they are unused. However, the passes are non-refundable once they're activated.

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 5-Day card.

Can I purchase passes on the spur of the moment when I arrive in San Diego?

Of course! With instant digital delivery, you can purchase and access passes right on your mobile device. Or, visit one of our local purchase locations.

Does a Go San Diego Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

Compare the price of the pass to the gate prices of the attractions you want to visit to see how much you can save. Or, check out some real savings examples from Go City Card customers to see how much they actually saved!

We give you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and choose the attractions you want to visit depending on your interests.

For inspiration, check out some of our sample itineraries, insider tips, and more for info on all the fun things to do in San Diego so you can make the most of your time here.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Diego Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Diego Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Diego as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Can I share my pass with a friend or sell it?

No. The Go San Diego Card is non-transferrable and may not be re-sold.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Diego Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

I still have questions!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

I found this to be a great way to tour San Diego and hit many interesting venues and activities. It was wonderful to be able to adapt where and what I wanted to fit in as I went along so that I could take advantage of the most opportunities. Next time I will choose a three day option rather than just two so that I can take full advantage of every day on my trip.

The pass was great overall, had two young grandchildren and would have liked to just purchased two day pass. We purchased a three day pass so we could get to sea world. Some of the seasonal closures or not advertised i.e. Legoland waterpark ,other seasonal closures too numerous to mention.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

The Go Card included the places we wanted to go see and had time for. There were several other places offered that we didn't have time for. It was so easy to use and so glad that we didn't have to stand in any ticket lines. The down side was that nothing was available after 5 pm. Would be better if there was something you could get into after 5:00 pm.

By Athe from San Jose on
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

Bought a two day pass but with the kids only got to go to two attractions 1) they close early 2)you have to use it consecutively kids got exhausted at Legoland and then had to get up early to go to Safari and walk all day not fun with exhausted kids .. 3) we tried to book one of the other attractions and they were only honoring the go pass until 11:00 am . Very disappointed about these passes!!!!!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

We have no complaints about the card at all! We paid for the 3 day cards just by going to LegoLand and SeaWorld. We also did the snorkeling, which was my family's favorite experience - Snorkeling in La Jolla through San Diego Bike & Kayak Tours - the best! We also went to the aircraft carrier, the zoo, and the air and space museum. Wish we could have had time to done more!

This was perfect for out party of 3. We purchased the 5-day pass. There were so many more attractions that we wanted to see but ran out of time. This is a MUST if you have kids. We have never been to San Diego so we were able to get a lot of information on things to do.

GoSanDiego was loaded with options, more than anyone could possibly use. Would have been nice if we could have had an itinerary scheduler since there really isn't time to sufficiently see half the stuff.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego® Card All-Inclusive Pass:

We bought a 7 day pass while in San Diego and felt it was money well spent. There are many attractions to choose from and it was great to be able to just walk up to the gates and not stand in line to purchase tickets. You can create your own itinerary as long as you participate in the activities on consecutive days once you activate the pass. You can go back to your activity as many times as you want, for eg. we spent 2 days at Balboa Park. It saves you a significant amt. of money and time. Would definitely buy a pass if I were to go to San Diego again.
