How it works

What do you mean by "consecutive calendar days"?

"Consecutive calendar days" are days in a row, on a calendar. A calendar day is not a 24-hour period.

For example, if you have a 3-Day Go San Diego Card and visit your first attraction on a Monday evening, it is valid for the remainder of Monday (1st calendar day) and the two days immediately following it: Tuesday (2nd calendar day), and Wednesday (3rd calendar day).

Tip: to get the most out of your pass, plan to visit attractions early in the day.

How do I "activate" my card?

Simply visit your first attraction!

How many days should I buy?

Most travelers visit between 2 and 3 attractions each day depending on individual preference. Our most popular card is the 5-Day card.

Is my card valid all day?

You can enter attractions any time with the Go San Diego Card.

What is your refund policy?

We know sometimes travel plans change, even at the very last minute. That's why, if you don't end up activating and using your pass within a year of the purchase date, we'll give you a full refund. No questions asked.

Here's the best part: unlike our competitors, this built-in cancellation insurance comes with every card purchase — free of charge.

If you have any questions, or if you would like to initiate a refund anytime within 1 year of your purchase, please call our Customer Care Team at 800-887-9103. We'll tell you how you can return your non-activated card or pass.

Please note: Activated passes are non-refundable.

Which delivery method should I choose?

Instant delivery is the fastest and most popular option. You'll be able to access your Go San Diego Card from your email or on your phone immediately after you purchase. It also includes some added valued Skip the Line features at various attractions.

With instant delivery you will receive a printable and mobile version of our guidebook.

Having a physical card shipped in advance will save you time traveling to a pick up location when you get there. Note that transit times vary depending on shipping options. View delivery options. With shipped physical cards, you will get a full color printed guidebook but won’t get access to added value Skip the Line features that come with the digital delivery.

Do you ship Go San Diego Cards to hotels?

Sorry, we cannot ship to hotels because of delivery concerns.

I have a voucher, where can I pick up my card?

View a list of in-city pickup locations where you can redeem your voucher for cards.

Where can I buy the cards in San Diego?

View a list of purchase locations in San Diego. Note that in-city purchases are available for full price only.

Does a Go San Diego Card expire?

Yes. You have one year from the date of purchase to begin using your pass. After one year, it will expire.

How much will I save?

Compare the price of the pass to the gate prices of the attractions you want to visit to see how much you can save. Many customers save more than 50%.

We give you the flexibility to create your own itinerary and choose the attractions you want to visit depending on your interests.

For inspiration, check out some of our sample itineraries, insider tips, and more for info on all the fun things to do in San Diego so you can make the most of your time here.

How many attractions can I visit in one day?

On a Go San Diego Card, you can visit as many attractions as you want in a day.

Can I visit an attraction more than once?

In most cases, you can visit each attraction once per day. Some attractions are valid only once during the life of the pass. Please reference your guidebook for specific information on each attraction.

What is the age cut off for child cards?

Child cards are for children ages 3-12. Most attractions do not charge for children under 3 years old. However, there are some exceptions (especially children's museums and attractions geared toward very young travelers). If you have a child under 3 years old, please check with the attraction directly in advance. You may be charged at the gate.

Do I need to make reservations to visit the attractions?

Attractions that require a reservation will display this symbol on the guidebook page.

Some attractions require a credit card to hold a reservation. In these cases, your credit card will not be charged unless you do not show up for your reservation.

What’s the catch?

There’s no catch. Go San Diego Card has a partnership with all of the participating attractions to make your visit to San Diego as memorable as possible and to help you save time and money.

Can I share my pass with a friend or sell it?

No. The Go San Diego Card is non-transferrable and may not be re-sold.

What happens if an attraction is closed or a tour is cancelled due to weather or other problem?

While we do our best to ensure that all attractions are available, events happen that are out of our control. The great thing about a Go San Diego Card is that there are so many attractions to choose from. If an attraction is closed, or cannot be visited for some reason, we know you'll find a fun alternative in your guidebook!

What do I do if my Go San Diego Card is lost or stolen?

Unfortunately, it cannot be replaced if it is lost or stolen. Please treat the card like cash.

I still have questions!

Please feel free to call us at 866‑628‑9032 and we’ll be happy to help you!

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

Bought a 5 day Go San Diego Pass. Used to get into San Diego Zoo, San Diego Safari Park, SeaWorld, Legoland and multiple museums in Balboa Park. This saved us quite a bit of money on admission costs. We still had to stand in line at most of these places as they required you to get a ticket specific to the park. In Balboa park, they just scanned the Go San Diego card.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

Good deal if you have time to see enough attractions to pay for the card. We purchased a 3 day pass for a family of 3. All in all we saved $200 on retail admission to the attractions we visited. The only reason for 4 stars is we could have used some down time to relax a bit more, but because of the price of the cards, we tried to get our money's worth. Loved having them on my iPhone, so you could skip lines at certain places and we didn't have to worry about keeping track of paper vouchers. In the future I will definitely look into the card again. If for nothing else to get some good ideas on some attractions to see that I hadn't found already or thought of.

Not a good value
By Family Traveler from Benton CIty, WA on
Pros:
Must-see attractions included, Helpful guide booklet, User-friendly system, Flexible Schedule
Cons:
Pricey product,
Best Uses:
Great for families, Active travelers,
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

The card is only a good value if you go to the high-priced attractions every day of your visit. (such as Sea World or Zoo). If you take a day "off" from using it to shop, go to the beach, or visit lower cost museums, you end up spending more for the card than you would pay if you just paid separately for everything.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

We were glad to have the Go Cards, but did not have enough time to do all that is available. Most vendors knew how to handle it, but occasionally had to find people to explain how to use it to get into some places.

Too expensive for what it offers
By Nicolas from Montreal, Quebec, Canada on
Pros:
Must-see attractions included, Skip the lines Benefit, Helpful guide booklet
Cons:
Pricey product,
Best Uses:
Great for families,
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

This card seemed to be a great idea at first, but I found it too expensive for what it offered. Unless you are planning to visit Sea World, it is difficult to visit enough attractions to justify the price of the card. Also, I had to pay extra at some attractions to visit special expositions that were not covered by the card.

Smart Destinations Response: Hi Nicolas, We are sorry to hear that your trip could have been better. We do offer a few different pass options to suit every travelers needs. The all inclusive pass is good for those who want to do a lot of attractions, but the Build Your Own option might have been better for you. We are happy to look at your order and make any applicable changes if you would like to send us an email directly. Thank you for taking the time to leave this review.

Good value, but wish was more flexible.
By MammaX5 from Boise, Idaho on
Pros:
User-friendly system, Must-see attractions included, Money Saver
Cons:
Days Of Use Not Flexible, Parking Not Included, Skip the lines not available
Best Uses:
Budget Travelers, Short Stays, Active travelers
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

The ease of use was good overall, although it was confusing to find the 'skip the line' at times. Definitely appreciated being able to access and use pass with smartphone. Biggest drawback was once pass was activated you had to use it within consecutive days which put a lot of pressure on scheduling to take full advantage and make it worth the cost. Would be great to have more flexibility in choosing which days to apply the pass within a reasonable time frame.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

We bought the five day card and were satisfied with the value. I figure we saved about $500 dollars with the cards instead of buying tickets separately. We went to Sea World twice, the zoo, safari park, USS Midway, Flagship whale watching cruise, and Balboa park museums. It was a very busy week, but we had a blast. Our family favorites were Sea World, the whale cruise, and the beaches, especially Coronado beach it was awesome with fighter jets and military helicopters flying over head regularly.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

I took six kids to spring break in California. I found the Go San Diego card to be budget friendly and easy to buy. But only if we visited as many attractions as possible. I think if you are only wanting to visit one a day this card doesn't save you money. We did Lego Land, whale watching, USS Midway, San Diego Zoo and Sea World in the three days our cards were active. I didn't find anyway to skip any lines. And I even talked to park employees at each attraction. Having six kids waiting in lines was not the funniest and I was hoping to avoid that but we survived. Overall for us it was a great value and everyone had fun. It was great to get the kids involved and have them pick the most important things they wanted to do. It made getting them up early to get out the door easier because they were excited.

Comments about Smart Destinations Go San Diego Card:

We used this card quite a bit when we were in San Diego. There were a lot of random items included, like 10% off at certain restaurants, which came in very useful. The card probably saved us around $100 total.
