LEGOLAND® Florida

LEGOLAND-Florida-Resort-5Visit the place where your children’s toys are brought to life in vivid and exciting ways.

LEGOLAND Florida makes LEGOs the center of the universe with their fun rides, creative building opportunities, and fascinating models.

There are also special areas of the park that focus on specific toy lines or franchise-related material, like Heartlake City or The LEGO® Movie.

This summer, check out their special LEGOLAND Knight Lights series of events, which includes light displays, building opportunities, a dance party, and much more during extended park hours throughout July.

This attraction is best suited for children under 12 or so.

Kennedy Space Center

Orlando Kennedy Space Center images (6)A great attraction for visitors of all ages is the Kennedy Space Center.

One of the most important places in the country in the history of American spaceflight, this research and operations center is filled with exciting exhibits and areas to explore.

WonderWorks

Wonderworks Orlando (3)Another great one for the kids is the bizarre, yet educational WonderWorks.

This upside-down attraction is basically an indoor amusement park, filled with informative exhibits and interactive areas for your children to explore.

Some of the featured exhibits include a really neat glow-in-the-dark ropes course, a simulated hurricane, virtual sports, and many more.

Coca-Cola Orlando Eye

The-Orlando-Eye-1See the iconic I-Drive of Orlando from above with a ride to the top of the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye.

This massive observation wheel is actually the largest of its kind on the entire east coast, and provides excellent views of the sprawling city below.

It’s a fun ride, too, and each pod is equipped with interactive touch pads to help you learn more about the sights you’ll see beneath you.

Keep those phones charged for the perfect family photo!

Ripley’s Believe it or Not!

Ripleys Orlando (5)Another I-Drive standby, Ripley’s is the perfect place for the curious folks of all sorts.

It’s filled with amazing natural objects and artifacts, from the grotesque to the eerie to the downright strange.

Think shrunken heads, models made of grains of rice, a two-headed calf, and even a mural made of thousands upon thousands of playing cards.

There is also some important cultural stuff here, too, like a section of the Berlin Wall.

Getting In: Ripley’s Believe it or Not! tickets are included with the Go Orlando Card.

Fun Spot America

Orlando Fun Spot Rides (4)This delightful theme park is a great one for families.

Enjoy exciting classic rides like go-karts, bumper boats, a Ferris wheel, roller coasters and more.

It’s a nice way to indulge in some classic summer fun without blowing the whole budget, and the kids will have just as much fun.

This summer, they’re even debuting a brand new coaster, “Mine Blower,” which is a really cool looping coaster for thrill-seekers.

Gatorland

Orlando Gatorland 17There’s nothing more Floridian than a visit to Gatorland: The Alligator Capital of the World.

See the most fearsome inhabitant of the Everglades in a protected environment, and learn all about these terrifying creatures as you explore this 110-acre wildlife preserve-slash-theme park.

They have a number of educational tours, a nature walk, a petting zoo, and some fun gator shows.

Spend a few hours here for an authentic Florida experience!

Congo River Adventure Golf

Orlando Congo River (4)Certainly one of my summertime family favorites, adventure mini-golf is a must on many vacation itineraries.

Congo River Adventure Golf makes the course especially fun and just the right amount of challenging, with unique twists like an artifact hunt.

Plus, afterwards you can continue the competitive streak in their onsite arcade.

Green Meadows Petting Farm

Kids love getting up close and interacting with the animals at Green Meadows Petting FarmOne for the animal lovers and particularly for your little ones, Green Meadows Petting Farm is a wonderful destination in nearby Kissimmee.

Embark on a two-hour guided tour of the farm, where kids can see and carefully pet pigs, donkeys, ducks, and many more.

You can also enjoy hayrides, the chance to milk a cow, and a loop around on an express train!

Then of course, you can’t go wrong with a visit to an immersive aquatic experience at SEA LIFE Aquarium.

Another I-Drive heavy hitter, this attraction is both educational and entertaining in equal amounts.

Our favorite exhibit is their amazing 360-degree ocean tunnel. Watch sharks and other fish swim above your head!

There’s also a touch tank that mimics a rockpool, complete with sea anemone, starfish, crabs, and more.

Getting In: SEA LIFE Aquarium tickets are available when you build your own pass.
