This Gray Line tour of Chicago’s South Shore is a two-hour journey through the famous sites and streets of the southern half of downtown and beyond. This fully narrated tour begins in the iconic Grant Park around the Art Institute of Chicago, and continues south towards the Museum Campus, Solider Field (home of the Chicago Bears), then down onto Jackson Park and beyond. See some of the most iconic architectural and historical sites of Chicago’s South Shore.

The South Shore Tour is a convenient, informative way to explore some of the highlights of Chicago that you might not otherwise visit. While you’re sure to find your way around Grant Park, and down to the major museums, you may check out the impressive Amoco Building, Jackson Park (site of the 1893 World’s Fair), the Lake Point Towers (tallest apartment buildings in the world!) or the University of Chicago’s campus. Getting In

Please present your pass at the Gray Line desk at the Palmer House Hilton Hotel Gift Shop for a ticket for the South Shore Tour. This tour departs from the Palmer House Hilton Hotel. Please arrive a minimum of 1/2 hour prior to the scheduled departure time. Tour is based on availability on the day of service.

Your pass allows you to ride one bus tour per day. Choose between North Side, South Shore or Grand Tour (seasonal).


April-September: Tour departs at 11:30 am and 3:30 pm
October–March: Tour departs at 11:30 am

Please note, from January - March, this tour will be closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays


New Year's Eve and New Year’s Day, Chicago Marathon Sunday, , Easter Sunday, , Thanksgiving Day, , Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day., January-March: No tours on Tuesdays and Wednesdays., All holiday hours are subject to change without notice.
