Brief description:

Recently named one of the Top 25 Museums in the United States by TripAdvisor, the Museum of Science and Industry is something you can’t miss on a trip to Chicago.

Explore 14 acres of mind blowing exhibits at MSI, the largest science museum in the country — it’s unlike any museum you have ever seen. The museum is housed in the only remaining building from the famous 1893 World’s Fair, “The White City”, and offers a variety of hands-on, dynamic activities and exhibits for guests of all ages to enjoy.

You can explore a makeshift coal mine, control a 40-foot indoor tornado, and display your own pulse on a large-than-life 3D model of a heart. Each exhibit is better than next and allows you to become part of the action. You’ll also be able to catch an enlightening show at the five-story Giant Dome Theater. Surrender your senses to an all-encompassing digital media presentation that will teach you more about the world around us.

The Museum of Science and Industry has been providing unique scientific and mathematical experiences since 1933. In addition to numerous permanent and special exhibits that showcase the importance of teaching our youth about technology and advancements, MSI has also created the Welcome to Science Initiative.

This initiative removes the barrier that excludes certain youths from being able to participate in programs at school. Their mission is to inspire and motivate children to achieve their full potential in science, technology, medicine, and engineering. At MSI, everyone has the opportunity to create a better future. Through the interactive displays and classes, kids and adults alike are able to learn more about how we can innovate and move forward.
