Located on Watson Island near Downtown Miami, the current incarnation of the Miami Children’s Museum opened in a state-of-the-art, 56,500-square-foot facility a little more than 10 years ago. The MCM was established in 1983 and has been furthering its mission of enriching the lives of all children by fostering a love of learning ever since.
The Miami Children’s Museum includes the Castle of Dreams, a two-story sandcastle experience that features sands from across the globe, and the Safety Zone, an exhibit that teaches children what life is like for the heroes that keep us safe by letting them dress up like police officers, steer fire trucks and much, much more.
There are also exhibits like Bank, Supermarket and the Health & Wellness Center that give young guests the chance to learn about real-life situations that they will encounter in their everyday lives. Animal lovers will enjoy Pet Central, where they see how pets should be cared for and receive education about how important regular vet visits can be.
