Ahoy! Put your skills as a captain to the test and drive your own speed boat by going on a San Diego Speed Boat Adventure. Whether you’re a grizzled veteran of the sea or a shore-loving landlubber, a San Diego Speed Boat outing on a 13-foot vessel that is designed for speed is certainly a great way get out into the water in America's Finest City!
Each San Diego Speed Boat is equipped to be extremely safe, stable and comfortable. The vessels all come with safety equipment that has been approved by the Coast Guard and cruise around the harbor with help from super-quiet, eco-friendly, 30-horsepower outboard motors. Boats can carry up to three passengers and the seating arrangements are off the charts thanks to super-comfortable cushioned seats.
If you are nervous about being Captain, don’t be. You don’t have to be Ryan Gosling from “Drive” in order to pilot the speed boats; in fact, you don’t even need a license. The boats are controlled by a steering wheel that handles just like a car and the throttle only has three positions (forward, neutral, reverse), so it’s pretty hard to get confused. No matter if you choose to cruise slow like houseboat or fast like a jet ski, you are pretty much guaranteed to have a great time...just don’t end up like the crew from “Gilligan’s Island.” (Don’t worry, you won’t!)
Pilot your boat as you take in views of Navy Ships, the USS Midway aircraft museum, Coronado Bridge, famous Star of India, historic ships of the Maritime Museum, cruise ship terminal, Seaport Village, downtown skyline and all the creatures and critters that make their homes in the San Diego Harbor.
