The aquarium explores three diverse environments, located in San Francisco Bay its surrounding areas, in a fascinating and educational way with interactive and creative exhibits.
Exhibit highlights include:
Discover the Bay: You’ll begin here with an introduction to the unique ecosystems that support the area’s marine life. Eight exhibits make up this gallery, featuring over a thousand aquatic animals native to the San Francisco Bay.
Under the Bay: Descend beneath San Francisco Bay and see moon jellies and pacific sea nettles. Next, walk through two crystal-clear tunnels, 300 feet in length, completely surrounded by 700,000 gallons of Bay water and over 20,000 animals. The first tunnel contains anchovies, giant sea bass, and impressive sea stars, while the second tunnel is home to marine life that thrives in the deeper waters of the Bay, including massive sevengill sharks and giant skates.

You’ll have the opportunity to touch California king snakes, leopard sharks, and bat rays. Visitors will also be able to participate in interactive experiments, learn how solar power works, and send e-cards to friends back home.
