Immerse yourself in nature and wildlife and walk among the rainforest treetops at the Illawarra Fly Treetop Adventures, a 500-meter elevated steel walkway 20-30 meters above ground, for unforgettable bird’s-eye-views of the surrounding landscape.
The walkway features several lookout points along the route, including the iconic Knights Tower – a spiral staircase tower that rises 45 meters above ground – and two swaying springboard cantilever bridges to make for a fun and slightly challenging climb.
Be sure to bring your camera, you’ll have plenty of photo opportunities with sweeping views along the way—you might even get to see some of the native wildlife out and about, too, and on a clear day, you can see out to the Tasman Sea.
Tip: for the best chances of seeing the wildlife, try to plan your visit for early in the morning or late afternoon when the temperatures and sunlight are slightly lower.
Fun fact: the Treetop Walk was built by 6 men in 6 months on an existing fire trail – no trees were cut down during its construction.
