This 3-Hour Whale Watching Adventure Cruise in Sydney is not your traditional whale watching cruise—it’s an open-water adventure. Part whale watching tour/part speedboat experience, this whale watch cruise is a fast and exhilarating way to see Sydney’s native sea life and sure to be a highlight of your trip to Sydney.
Head to Darling Harbour, where you’ll board Whale Watching Sydney’s Totally Wild adventure speedboat, and in less than 20 minutes, you’ll be out in open waters where the whale watching will begin. The onboard crew will narrate your tour and point out any wildlife they spot as you ride along, making sure you don't miss a thing. They'll be able to explain any whale activity you might see too, including breaching, head lunges, tail slaps, mugging, and more.
Once you’re out on the water, you’ll be able to walk around the open-air deck so you can get an up close view of the whales when they swim close to the boat.
Built with the same design as animal rescue vessels, Totally Wild is designed specifically for speed and smaller group whale watching (27 people max), providing more agility in the water and traveling at higher speeds than traditional whale watching vessels with over 900 horsepower powering your cruise.
Whale sightings are guaranteed, if you don’t see a whale, you’ll get a ticket for a free return cruise (whale sighting success rate is close to 100%). And, although this cruise is specifically tailored to spot whales, you might see other marine life on your cruise, too, including bottlenose dolphins, seals, birds, and more. Be sure to bring your camera!
Tip: pack for the weather and bring an extra layer for the cruise—seating is on an open-air deck, so it’ll be windy and a bit cooler than on shore.
