Get round trip transportation to and from George Washington’s Mount Vernon by way of the Potomac River on a fully-narrated river cruise.
The tour departs from Alexandria. Once on the boat, you’ll learn all about the Potomac River and the landmarks you pass along the way to Mount Vernon, including the first lighthouse in the state of Virginia.
When you arrive at George Washington's Mount Vernon estate, you’ll have 4-hours to explore Mount Vernon on your own (please note: admission to Mount Vernon is not included, see options below) and go on a self-guided tour of the estate and grounds. Take your time visiting George Washington’s tomb, the mansion, gardens, the Pioneer Farm, the Museum and Education Center, and more.
After touring the estate, head back to the dock for your 4:00 pm - sharp - return cruise departure. (Best to plan to arrive at the dock by 3:50 pm as this is the only cruise heading back for the day.)
Please note: Admission to George Washington's Mount Vernon is not included with this cruise, just transportation to and from the estate. George Washington’s Mount Vernon tickets are available as an attraction choice on the Go Washington DC Explorer Pass, but you must add it to your pass before purchasing, or you may purchase admission for full price at the gate.
If you do not wish to purchase admission to the estate, you will have a 4 hour waiting period on the boat.
